Simple Joys Of Life! Theme for Christmas spirits!

It was almost the end of a long Saturday OPDs. I was feeling tired and looking forward for some relaxation.

In, ambled a portly elderly man wearing a half pant and a jubba, a villager with a broad smile splitting his face wide.

He was my old patient. I felt elated to see his cheerful face. I had seen him through three heart attacks n failures, innumerable admissions for various ailments.

His heart was not working properly. His kidneys were failing. But his spirit was healthy, intact, beaming and working perfectly. He wheezed like a steam engine on walking short distances, but his cheerful spirit travelled before him.

He was poor. I never asked him for his consultation fees. He loved to talk as I consulted and checked him. He always brought me a small gift of my favourite gauva fruit from his small garden . Sir, he always said, I can't give u anything, except my heartfelt blessings.

As he bid me good bye with his broad smile, he blessed me as always and thanked me for helping him live each day with gratitude. He said thank u for helping me live through each day and enjoy the commonest of things. I said thatha, you have repayed me in full and more. Each time u bless me, you make my day with the happiness you spread.

As he walked away, I thought, yes he was poor in money, but a what a rich heart he had and what a deep philosophy he brought to life.
