Elevator of Life ....!!
Dr Kannan yelped as a tube went into his urinary passage. He tried shouting, but no sounds came out. He tried kicking the devils who were tormenting him, but his legs refused to move. He felt sick and helpless. His body had failed him. Meanwhile, his tormenters cut off his clothes, yanked him and rolled him in a gown. Dr Kannan was infuriated, but his body refused to move. His limbs felt like lead weight. His mouth felt dry like gravel. He tried yelling, but only hoarse guttural sounds kept coming.
The ER team did their job with professional accumen, neither hurrying nor bothering about the wiggling, slithering patient. The senior doctor who appeared to be in charge, examined, and ordered for "Full" critical care protocol tests.....
Earlier Dr Kannan was rushed by ambulance from his clinic, after he developed inability to move his right side of body. No speech seemed to come out as he writhed on the clinic floor with urine splayed all over. His staff did a good job rushing him to the renowed top hospital in his town.
Dr Kannan was wealthy man. Indeed very wealthy. He owned his own 50-bed-hospital, with lab, scanning center and pharmacy. Besides he had his own clinic. Patients waited for him from morning till night. He was God on the pedestal who got his patients well and healthy.
Kannan, as he lay on his hospital bed with tubes running all over his body, remembered how long long time ago, he had came to this town, empty handed, thin and hungry with lots of hopes.....
It was about 25 years back, Dr Kannan landed in this town by a rickety bus after completing his physician training. By the grace of God, he became a assistant to an renowed old time physician of the town. Kannan worked hard and long hours. But he had a different philosophy about life. He wanted to become wealthy and very very rich.
Dr. Kannan bid his time until the old physician retired. Then Dr. kannan started making his dream come true from his patients. He milked his patients in all sorts of ways. To prescribing high-end medicines, to all sorts of investigations, to referring patients to hospitals. He chuckled as he remembered how he referred Palanisamy, Chokkamma etc and innumerable other patients to high-end hospitals for surgeries and admissions. Ofcourse, the hospitals helped him become wealthy and rich.
He remembered how about 10 years back he started his own hospital. Then oh boy! did money flow... Appendix, uterus, gall bladder etc became redundant organs in public.
Dr Kannan used to rub his hand in glee n exclaim " I have found the Elevator of Life and Success"....
And why not? He was very wealthy. He owned several tracts of lands, beside other unaccountable assets. He felt a thrill, when he remembered the latest Range Rover Suv car acquisition. Boy! that costed a bomb. Still, he had learnt the art of extracting the last pennies from his patients, so he could afford it.....
Now, as Dr Kannan struggled to get words out, there was some anxiety among the staff and doctors in the ICU, as everybody was watching the monitor and gestulating, until the Senior doctor shouted " crashing, start CPR, prepare for intubation. Get the scope"
Then Dr. Kannan realised what was happening. As the ICU staff put him in chin-up position, forcibly pried open his mouth, and an evil looking laryngoscope was thrust into his mouth, he suddenly realised that he had taken the wrong Elevator, as he lost consciousness.
Dr. Kannan stayed in the ICU for 3 days in coma and passed away after elevating on his Elevator of Success. A fat bill was handed to Kannan's son.......The Elevator took Dr. Kannan to a wrong place, he did not wish for, despite all the huge wealth he made.
Which Elevator are you on? Did you choose the elevator of life or somebody else choose it for you? Is the elevator taking you to the place you want to go, or to some strange place which u never realised .... ?
Live life wisely and in true peace. Choose proper elevators in life. Wrong choices of elevators will take you to places you dont want to go, or did not want to go . So choose the right-fit Elevators of Life ....
