“Things I Wish My Human Knew: Casper’s Voice from the Urban Jungle”

🐾 THINGS I WISH MY MASTER KNEW

(Casper, the true Alsatian speaks)

I don’t know what time it is.

But I know when you are late.

I know because the house smells different.

Sharper.

Quieter.

Like something important is missing.

You think I sleep all day.

But mostly… I wait.

I wait near the door.

I move when the lift sounds.

I lift my head when footsteps passby...

Every sound teaches me hope.

Every silence teaches me patience.

I wish you knew that.....

I don’t need bigger toys or fancy beds...

I need longer mornings and more time with you....

Five minutes more.

One slower breath.

One sentence spoken softly:

“Casper… I love you.”

That sentence lasts me hours.....all day..

You call me naughty when I chew things.

But I’m not angry.

I’m bored.

I’m anxious.

My mind is on overdrive running with nowhere to go.....

A dog’s body can rest.

But the mind?

The mind needs work.

I wish you knew that

a tired mind is calmer than a tired body.

You rush my walks.

You pull the leash and say,

“Come, come Casper… hurry....no time”

But I’m not walking.

I’m reading.

That tree tells me who passed last night.

That pole tells me who is afraid.

That patch of grass remembers the rain.

Sniffing is not time waste.

Sniffing is how my brain breathes.

I wish you knew that.

You leave the TV on for me.

But what comforts me is not noise.....It is you I want...

It’s your smell on that old shirt you forgot to wash.

It’s your voice message played once in the afternoon.

It’s knowing when you’ll return, pat me and call ....Casper, my good boy.....

Uncertainty scares me more than loneliness.

I wish you knew that routine

is the language of safety for dogs..

Sometimes you come home tired.

Silent.

Heavy.

I feel it before you touch the door. I know the energies. I can read people.... especially You...

So I stay close.

Not to demand.

But to absorb.

When you sit on the floor and rest your hand on my back,

my heartbeat slows yours down.

We heal each other like that.

I wish you knew

I’m not just your dog.

I am your nervous system’s quiet friend.

At night, when you scroll on your phone,

I wait for one last thing.

Not food.

Not play.

Just eye contact.

Just your palm on my chest.

Just a whisper:

“Good boy, Casper. love ya....buddy”

That closes my day.

That tells my body it is safe to sleep.

I don’t need a perfect life.

I need a simple life of love and feelings....

A day with:

• one slow walk

• one meaningful job

• one predictable return

• one moment of undivided presence

Give me that,

and I will give you loyalty

that no human will ever match.

I wish you knew

that I am not asking for more.

I am asking for you — fully, sometimes.....just that...

The Quiet Dog-Wellness Truth

Dogs don’t misbehave.

They communicate unmet needs.

And the deepest need is not food,

not toys,

not space.

It is emotional continuity, feelings, emotions and routines.....

Dogs love is pure love.. no demands..just love at its deepest level....
