What an Ancient Hoysala Temple Taught Me About Health, Success and Life

The Temple Quietly Changed the Way I Look at My Problems

I wasn't expecting a wellness lesson on a Sunday ....

I had gone to visit an ancient Hoysala temple this sunday...

The sun was unforgiving and harsh.

The stone was too warm beneath my feet.

And for a long time...I stood there looking with my mouth open, amazed.

Every pillar, every sculpture, every carving, and every tiny detail had been created by human hands, almost 800 years ago.

And now eight hundred years later...they still stood with astonishing beauty...

I found myself asking a simple question.

How?

Not how they carved the stone.

But how they stayed committed long enough to finish something so magnificent....

One sculptor could never have completed this temple....

One week could never have created this beauty....

One burst of inspiration was never enough....

The temple exists, because countless ordinary days became one extraordinary legacy.....yes?

As I stood there...another thought quietly entered my mind.

How much of my own life is shaped by Perspective?

We complain that weight loss is taking too long....

We complain that our business is growing too slowly....

We complain that relationships are difficult...

We complain that life is unfair....

Standing beside a temple that has watched centuries pass...my problems suddenly felt much smaller.

Not that they disappeared....but because my Perspective changed.

An eagle sees the landscape differently from someone standing in the valley.

Neither view is wrong. But one sees much farther.

Wellness is also like that.

When we live inside today's frustration...everything feels overwhelming.

Just one bad blood report....one argument...one missed workout...one financial setback...one disappointing week...We begin believing our story is falling apart.

But what if we stepped back?

What if we looked at our lives the way this temple looks at history?

-One missed workout is not your health.

-One difficult month is not your business.

-One disagreement is not your marriage.

-One setback is not your future.

Great lives, like great temples, are not built suddenly...They are built one stone at a time...One choice, one habit, one conversation,....one day, repeated.....

Perhaps that is why these ancient temples still inspire us....

Not only because they are beautiful. But because they remind us what patient craftsmanship can create...

Health is craftsmanship....

Character is craftsmanship....

Business is craftsmanship...

Relationships are craftsmanship...

Even hope is craftsmanship...

Nothing magnificent is built in a hurry.

As I walked away from the temple...I realised a core truth....

Perhaps our greatest problem isn't that life is difficult....

Perhaps we are standing too close to it.

Sometimes...the most powerful form of healing is not changing your circumstances. It is changing the height from which you see them.

So today...instead of asking...

"Why is my life taking so long?"

Ask another question....

"What am I building, one stone at a time?"

Because one day...you may look back...and realise your ordinary days quietly became something extraordinary.🌿
